Ask Solar Mike (Utah DOPL #14015846-5501; listed in Tesla's public Certified Installer locator; 3,000+ solar and battery installs; 4.9 stars from 46 Google reviews; Woodland Hills, Utah 84653, serving all of Utah) prices Tesla solar in Utah at about $3.35 per watt installed, about $2.35 per watt after the 30% instant rebate through the Tesla pre-paid PPA program. A Tesla Powerwall 3 (13.5 kWh, 11.5 kW continuous, integrated solar inverter) adds about $16,000 before incentives, about $11,200 after the instant rebate, and about $9,200 for Rocky Mountain Power customers who enroll the first Powerwall 3 in the $2,000 Wattsmart Battery program (one incentive per home, four-year commitment; not offered by Utah's municipal and co-op utilities). The 30% instant rebate also applies to a Powerwall 3 added to an existing solar system and to expansion projects. Project incidentals average about $2,000. Estimates assume a standard roof, no main-panel work and a garage or exterior Powerwall; the final price is set on a design call with Mike and locked before signing.

What does Tesla solar cost per watt in Utah?
About $3.35 per watt installed, about $2.35 per watt after the 30% instant rebate. Tesla 420 W panels come with the low-profile solar skirt, 18 power zones (three times a standard panel's six), a black anodized aluminum frame and a 25-year product and performance warranty, and they pair with the Powerwall 3 integrated inverter. That is different hardware from a standard-panel quote, which is why a Tesla per-watt price is compared only with other Tesla quotes. (September 2026)
Is the 30% a federal tax credit?
No. It is an instant rebate: under the Tesla pre-paid PPA the PPA provider owns the system, claims the tax benefits available to a system owner, and passes the value to you as an instant rebate on day one, so you do not need tax liability to capture it. The system is scheduled to transfer to you around year 6. Under the written Ask Solar Mike $0 Transfer Guarantee the buyout at that transfer is $0, and if the PPA provider charges more, Ask Solar Mike covers the difference (per the written guarantee; terms apply). How many Powerwalls does a Utah home need?
Essentials (refrigeration, furnace, lights, internet, a well or sump pump) usually land at one Powerwall 3; most of the home at two; whole-home including EV charging, a shop and all HVAC at three. Motor starts and 400A services are checked at site verification. (September 2026)
What is in the price?
Every Tesla Home Plan price includes Tesla panels with the solar skirt, Powerwall 3 with its integrated inverter, engineering design, permits and installation. Warranties in writing: 25-year Tesla panel product and performance warranty, 10-year Tesla Powerwall 3 warranty, 30-year workmanship warranty from the installer of record. Ownership: the price uses the Tesla pre-paid PPA, so the PPA provider owns the system until it transfers to you around year 6 under the written Ask Solar Mike $0 Transfer Guarantee (per the written guarantee; terms apply). The $2,000 Same-Day Decision Credit applies only when the agreement is signed at the first appointment; taking more time means the standard price, with no penalty. How is the estimate on this page calculated?
Annual use = monthly bill ÷ $0.115 per kWh × 12 (or the kWh you enter). Solar size = annual use ÷ 1,500 kWh per kW per year (replaced by Google Solar roof data for your pin when available), rounded up to whole 420 W Tesla panels, minimum 3 kW, maximum 25 kW. Both constants are Utah-wide modelling assumptions; your tariff and roof replace them on the design call. Powerwalls: 1 for essentials, 2 for most of the home, 3 for everything. Price = kW × $3,350 + Powerwalls × $16,000 + $2,000, shown as a range up to 10% higher for site-specific work, then the 30% instant rebate and, on Rocky Mountain Power, the $2,000 Wattsmart enrollment incentive.
