Start with what matters
A checklist to use
before choosing a system.
Your checklist organizes what you want to protect. It does not guess a battery count or promise how long your home will stay powered.
A sample of what you get
A brief you can actually use.
- My priority: refrigeration, internet and lighting.
- Confirm: simultaneous loads, starting power and the energy needed.
- Ask every installer: “What is included, and what assumptions change the result?”

Your backup priorities, made clear.

Educational planning brief. Site review, final design, actual equipment and written agreement determine performance and scope. This checklist is not an engineered design.
Your printable comparison sheet
Ask every provider the same questions.
Use this sheet on its own, or add your personal priorities above. It is available even without JavaScript.
Ask each provider for a written answer. Blank cells are space for your notes—not a score or endorsement.

A home comes before a hardware list
Start with your life.
Then plan the system.
A battery count alone cannot describe your backup plan. Running power, energy use, reserve settings, your equipment and the loads you want to protect all matter.
Ask Solar Mike helps Utah homeowners explore Tesla solar and Powerwall options. Bring your checklist so the next conversation starts with your priorities.

Before you start
A few clear answers.
What does the free checklist include?
You receive a list of your chosen backup priorities, the inputs a household-specific design still needs, and a printable three-quote comparison with the same questions for each provider.
Do I have to share my contact details to use the checklist?
The checklist is free. You can view, copy and print the result without sharing contact details or purchasing anything. If you choose to book with Mike, the separate booking page asks for the information needed to make that appointment.
Will this tell me exactly how many Powerwalls I need?
No. It organizes your goals and questions. Battery count, covered loads and backup duration require a household-specific design using actual loads, equipment, energy use and site conditions.
Can I use it if I already have solar?
Yes. Select your existing setup. Your checklist will include questions about compatibility, monitoring and any changes needed to integrate backup with the system already installed.
What happens after I finish?
Your checklist appears on this page. You can print it, save it as a PDF through your browser, or copy the text. Nothing is emailed automatically. Reviewing it with Mike is optional, and choosing a booking link does not itself make an appointment.
Is Ask Solar Mike the same company as Tesla?
No. Ask Solar Mike is an independent Utah solar and battery company. Tesla product names identify the equipment being discussed; this tool is not a Tesla corporate service.
